Here is where you will find new systems to put on your STCS ships, such as Fusion Reactors and Probes, which aren't in the regular game. House rules for these systems will accompany the game stats.
Fusion Reactors
1 GW
Power Provided: 1
History: The 1 GW reactor was very heavily used in many ship designs throughout the 21st, 22nd and 23rd Centuries. While extremely limited compared to later reactors, and only mounted in quantities of 1 or 2 on stardrive vessels and later, full starships, it was still very easy to maintain, and can still be found on some occasional 24th century ships.
2 GW
Power Provided: 2
History: Introduced in 2242, the 2 GW was intended for use on many of the new Warp 7, 8, and 9 ships under development, capable of producing twice the power of the old 1 GW. Although hihgly successful for a few decades, the 2 GW has been retired in the 2300s, replaced by the 4 GW and 7 GW reactors.
4 GW
Power Provided: 4
History: When a whole new array of technology was being designed in the mid-2250s, it was decided to greatly improve auxiliary reactor output, resulting in the 4 GW. Capable of producing far more power than any other fusion reactor in those days, an amount roughly equal to the impulse engines on most cruisers, the 4 GW was vastly successful, and even continues to be used heavily to this day, although on less advanced vessels.
7 GW
Power Provided: 7
History: The 7 GW was developed in the 2340s, and proved to be a powerful replacement for the older 2 and 4 GW models. TOday, it is still heavily used, despite slowly being replaced by the superior 10 GW reactor.
10 GW
Power Provided: 10
History: The 10 GW is a highly advanced auxiliary reactor, and it is used on a very large number of vessels. It is highly used on many of the most advanced vessels, although some of the most advanced classes are starting to use the new 12 GW reactor.
